Provenance:

Wollman family collection (Hofrat Herbert Wollmann)

The Italian port town of Terraccina in southern Lazio was a popular holiday resort of the Wollmann family, from whose possession this rare lithograph originates.   From 1906 to 1935, the art collector Herbert Wollmann (1870-1937) was the Prussian (later, German) ambassador to the Holy See in Rome.  Greiner was one of the first artists to know and appreciate Hofrat Herbert Wollmann in Rome.
